JCS Lunchtime Public Lecture with Adam Cheyer speaking on “Five Predictions for the Future” is on today, Tuesday, February 12, at 1:00p.m..
The event is slated to be hosted at University of the West Indies, Faculty of Science and Technology, Physics Lecture Theatre A.
Adam Cheyer, the inventor of Siri, speaks on the 5 trends in the computer industry that promise to have significant impact on the high-tech venture landscape over the next 5 years.
ABOUT Speaker : Mr. Adam Cheyer
Adam Cheyer was co-founder and VP Engineering of Siri, and then Director of Engineering in the Apple iPhone/iOS group after Siri’s sale to Apple. Previously, at SRI International, he was Chief Architect for the CALO project, the largest Artificial Intelligence effort in US history.
Adam Cheyer is presently in Kingston to participate in Transcel engineering and project implementation meetings. He will also be attending the launch of the DBJ Mobile Money for Microfinance pilot project on Feb. 11th as a member of the Transcel team and guest of the DBJ.
Mr. Cheyer is a founding member of Transcel and has been its principal technical advisor since 2010, prior to Apple’s acquisition of Siri. He recently resigned from Apple to spend more time on other projects of interest such as the Mobile Money initiative. Notably, he has also helped start two other companies,Genetic Finance, a distributed machine learning company with 1M+ CPUs, and Change.org, a social platform for positive change, with 25M+ active users.
